Morgan Heritage toka kushoto Lukes, Peter, Gramps, Una na Mr Mojo
Nilipofanya mahojiano na Ras Innocent Nganyagwa mwaka 2003 kuhusu hali ya Reggae nchini Tanzania, alizungumza sentensi ambayo niliitumia saana katika kipindi cha Reggae chake Seif "Dj Fax" Selemani aliyekuwa Times FM. Alisema "kuna kutoeleweka kwa suala la Rasta. Kuna watu wenye locks (Rasta) ambao hawana imani ya urasta na wapo marasta ambao hawana locks". Huo ni msemo ambao si Ras Inno tu aliyefafanua ukweli huu kwa kina, bali kundi maarufu na mahiri katika muziki wa Reggae ulimwenguni la Morgan Heritage lilifafanua hili kwa kutunga wimbo wenye ujumbe huo na kuipa albamu yao jina la wimbo huo; DON'T HAFFI DREAD.
Morgan Heritage inayoundwa na ndugu watano (Peter, Gramps, Mr Mojo, Luke na Dada yao Una) walitoa albamu yao hiyo mwaka 1999 ambayo katika kibao chao wanasema "you don't have to dread to be rasta. This is not the dreadlocks thing, it's divine conception of the heart". Katika jamii zetu kumekuwa na mkanganyiko wa uelewa wa nani ni Rasta na nani ana dreads na nini athari na ama faida za kuwa na dreads. Ni uelewa huu ambao kama ilivyo kwa mengi umekanganywa na IMANI na TAMADUNI zetu na kufanya baadhi ya mambo yaliyo ama yanayostahili kuwa ya "kiuchaguzi" kuwekwa katika kundi la DHAMBI, UHUNI na mengine mengi ambayo kwa hakika hayana ukweli ndani yake.
Tumeona "mtindo" wa wasanii wengi wa Bongo Flava kutengeneza dreads kwa misingi iliyoonekana kama ya kibiashara zaidi japo wengi wao hawana imani na wengine hata hawatambui imani hizo, lakini walisokota.
Kama alivyosema Jah Peter kwenye onesho lao la San Francisco, kuna wengi wenye Rasta wasiojua lolote kuhusu imani yake ambao "wanavaa" kwa utashi na kuna wengi walio ma-rasta halisi wasio na dreads. Kubwa ni kujua njia na maisha uishiyo na namna unavyotaka kuendesha maisha pasina kujitumbukiza katika maisha ya wengine na kuharibu mtazamo wao kwa tabia zisizoendana na pale ulipojiingiza.
Ni CHANGAMOTO YETU sote kujua maisha tuishiyo na kutambua kuheshimu kila mfumo mwema wa maisha na kuuthamini kama ambavyo mifumo yetu imekuwa ikithaminiwa na kuheshimiwa.
